Foma Ortho 400 – Orthochromatic Black & White Film for Medium Format
Foma Ortho 400 is a unique orthchromatic black & white negative film designed for photographers who want a distinctive tonal rendering and classic film character. Unlike panchromatic films, Ortho 400 has reduced sensitivity to red light, producing darker skies, smoother skin tones, and a very particular contrast that many photographers associate with early photographic processes.
With an ISO 400 sensitivity, Foma Ortho 400 is versatile enough for both outdoor and indoor photography, while still maintaining its distinctive look. The film offers fine grain, high sharpness, and excellent resolving power, making it suitable for landscapes, architecture, and stylized portrait work.
In 120 medium format, the larger negative allows the film’s tonal range and subtle textures to shine, delivering beautiful detail whether scanned or printed in the darkroom.
