TS-Optics 8″ f/12 Hyperbolic Cassegrain telescopes are excellent high contrast and optically sharp instruments, particularly well suited for lunar and planetary viewing and imaging.
In terms of optical quality, Cassegrain telescopes are traditionally more advantageous than other similar designs such as SCT’s which generally contain more basic spherical mirrors and a larger central obstruction. Being an open ended system, similar to Newtonian designs, these cassegrains are also less susceptible to dew formation and also adapt to temperature changes much more quickly.
