Noritsu Film Scanning in Berlin

Once your film is developed, we scan it on the Noritsu HS-1800. We run two of them in our setup.

What Noritsu Can Scan

• Half-frames — we scan them as singles, but you can request paired scans. Just give us the heads-up when you order.

Formats That Require Other Scanners

For 110 film, 4×5 sheets, and mounted slides, we have the Durst Sigma Plus scanning service. Check out our Imacon film scanning service for more negative scanning options.

Scan Options, File Formats and Resolution

Flash or Biggie?

• Flash — perfect for Instagram, daily use, and prints up to 10×15 cm.
• Biggie — ideal for portfolios and larger prints up to 20×30 cm, exhibitions and creative projects.

JPG or TIFF?

If you’re looking for scans that are ready to post but still flexible for adjustments, go with JPG. For JPG scans we do basic color and exposure correction, and you can tweak them however you like.

If you’re going for a certain look, go with TIFF for flat, untouched scans ready for your editing.

How to Place Your Order

Place your order online or in person. Send us your negatives or drop them off.

Shipping Checklist

Before sending your negatives, make sure that:

1. Your order number is written clearly on the package.
2. Your film is packed securely.
3. The parcel is addressed directly to Film Speed Lab UG rather than a post office branch.

Scanning Process and Delivery

Scanning Workflow and Frame Review

1. Load negatives.
2. Preview the roll.
3. Run the high-res scan.

We review each frame manually: rotating and cleaning marks.

Our Turnaround

• Flash JPG — 1 working day.
• Flash TIFF — 1 working day.
• Biggie JPG — 3 working days.
• Biggie TIFF — 3 working days.

Downloading Your Scans

We send your scans straight to your inbox — so keep an eye on your email, including spam or promotions folders.

Scan links are active for three days. If you miss the download period, just click „re-upload my scans“ button in your email from us. A new link will be in your inbox within 24 hours.

Collecting or Returning Your Negatives

Pick up your negatives or get them shipped back.

We keep your negatives for 1 month. Need more time to pick them up? Just let us know and we’ll hold onto them a bit longer.
