With Durst Sigma film scanning, we’ve added three new services to our lineup:
- scanning 4×5 sheets at even higher resolution and DPI than on the Imacon
- delivering full frame scans with film borders
- digitising dia slides.
Whether you’re scanning a whole archive or just a roll that really matters, our Berlin lab delivers fast, pro-level results with the Durst Sigma Plus.
The Durst Sigma Plus scans nearly every format: 35mm, 110, 120 (including rare ones), APS, dia, and 4×5 large format film.
What really stands out is the speed.
Imacon:
4×5 sheet, 16-bit TIFF – 9400×7700 px, 2040 DPI, ~130 MB
Scan time: 15–20 minutes
Durst Sigma Plus:
4×5 sheet, 16-bit TIFF – 9300×11900 px, 2540 DPI, ~650 MB
Scan time: just 2 minutes
What else makes Durst Sigma film scanning special
Durst Sigma is a high-end, industrial-grade scanner designed for print-ready results. With its auto-feed carrier system, it can scan entire rolls fully automatically.
It also features Digital ICE, which removes dust and scratches from your scans, cutting down on retouching time.
The resolution goes up to 3,800 dpi for 35 mm, 3,000 dpi for 120 film, and 2,500 dpi for 4×5 sheets with scan files reaching up to 650 MB. All that — delivered in a minute or two.
What you get with Durst Sigma film scanning:
- high-resolution scans from any film format
- clean, sharp, and print-ready results
- files delivered as TIFF
- optional full-frame scans with film borders
- a perfect digital backup for your archive
- scans sent straight to your inbox, with negatives returned in archival sleeves
How does Durst Sigma film scanning compare to Noritsu or Imacon?
Durst Sigma scans just as fast as Noritsu but handles more formats like 4×5 sheets, scans with borders, and slide film. It also offers higher resolution than both Noritsu and Imacon.
Compared to Imacon, Durst features Digital ICE for automatic dust and scratch removal and is much faster: a 4×5 16-bit TIFF takes about 2 minutes, while Imacon needs 15–20.
