Between 2002 and 2007, the Belgian photo artist Jean-Paul Derrider (*1963) visited cinemas in the Rhineland and Belgium, capturing film projectionists at their projectors and the often traditional movie theaters with a large-format camera. A quiet, thought-provoking photo book on the history of cinema – from the heyday to the great ‚cinema death‘ that began with the spread of television and continues to this day.
