As the successor to the popular CGEM mount, the CGEM II has a modern design and also supports the larger Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrains (up to 11″) safely and vibration-free, which is ideal for photographic use as well as for visual observations.
With a payload of up to 18 kg and a slewing speed of up to 5° per second, you can quickly target any object in the database.
The innovations of CGEM II include
- A dovetail clamp for two sizes (44mm for Vixen/Celestron (CG-5) and CGE/3-inch,
- 2″ heavy-duty tripod legs with height marking,
- A hand controller with USB 2.0 for connection to a PC,
- Permanent screw error correction (PEC): The periodic screw error can be compensated by software
- An autoguider connection
- The ability to track beyond the meridian so that observations of the most interesting part of the sky are not interrupted
