This volume opens up a view of a work of dazzling presence and urgent fascination. The estate of photographer Urs Marty brings together a wealth of intense images from different areas of life. His work ranges from travel impressions and conceptual image series to excursions into the milieu. And he is not a distanced voyeur at work, but a kind of accomplice, if not a confidant, who disenchants the body in later detail shots and at the same time lends it an elementary dignity.
