“Hervé Guibert began taking photographs in 1972, at the age of seventeen, with a small Rollei 35 that he received from his father.” This is how Agathe Gaillard begins the text accompanying an exhibition of Guibert’s photographs, which took place a few months after his death on December 27, 1991. In 1993, Gallimard published a first anthology, Hervé Guibert, Photographies. Twenty years after Guibert’s death, a new generation took an interest in the writer and photographer.
