These photos all reflect the artist’s search for beauty from the amateur’s point of view. The images may fascinate us with their luster, the beauty of their colors and their flirtation with abstraction, but we can’t pinpoint the source of this fascination. Close to emptiness, in front of which image-reading specialists find themselves at a loss, they can appear as a nostalgic, barely distanced tribute to the endangered species that the amateur photographer has become.
