The Astrozap dual-channel controller uses pulse-width modulation technology. Each channel controls two outputs of a total of four outputs. Each channel is able to maintain a duty cycle of 5% at low setting to 95% at high setting. The Astrozap dew regulator is designed to operate at 12 volts DC and should never be operated at any other voltage. The total current capacity for all four outputs is 5 amps – We recommend using Astrozap Heater bands however other brands can be used once they are a similar rating.
The controller is supplied with a cable about 1.8 meters long, which is equipped with a cigarette lighter plug. A 5-amp fuse is integrated in the connector. The red power LED indicates that the controller is being powered and the two red lights on the outputs indicate the power level of each channel. The brighter the red LEDs, the longer the duty cycle for this channel. When it is set to the lowest setting, it is effectively turned off. It also includes a 2-inch Velcro strap for attaching the controller to a suitable area of your telescope mount.
